Payday 3’s launch didn’t go quite as Strabreeze Studios had planned, but given how extensive the post-launch content has been for previous games, the game will continue to improve and get more content. So, here’s all we know about Payday 3’s post-launch content.

Starbreeze Studios’ co-op heist shooter, Payday 3, had a mixed-bag launch when it comes to content and general performance. While it does offer a flattering amount of heists to let loose your criminal fantasies, playing with your friends was a tussle in itself thanks to all the matchmaking issues.

Being a live-service title, things are, hopefully, only going to get better for Payday 3. In fact, Starbreeze has already shared details on post-launch content and also hinted at a possible offline mode.

Here is everything coming to Payday 3.

Payday 3 all confirmed Year 1 DLC so far

Year 1 of Payday 3 will feature four major DLCs. While the finer details remain thin, here are the names of the DLCs alongside their tentative dates:

  • DLC 1 – Syntax Error (Winter 2023)
  • DLC 2 – Boys in Blue (Spring 2024)
  • DLC 3 – The Land of the Free (Summer 2024)
  • DLC 4 – Fear and Greed (Fall 2024)

Additional content and heists are also planned beyond these as well.

Payday 3 upcoming changes and improvements

It is clear from the launch of Payday 3 that new content isn’t the only thing the game needs. Addressing this, Starbreeze Studios laid out plans for quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and new functionality in their October 2, 2023 blog post.

Here’s what’s coming:

DateContent
OctoberQoL improvements, new content, and new functionality
Oct/NovQoL-improvements, new content and new functionality
NovemberQoL improvements, new content, and new functionality
Winter 2023The DLC “Syntax Error” on sale (included in Silver and Gold Edition)

Again, details on the scheduled improvements remain slim, but optimism is that they’ll address some of the player base’s biggest gripes. Issues like matchmaking problems have seemingly been fixed in the latest October 2 update.

Is Payday 3 getting an Offline Mode?

Starbreeze Studios has not confirmed a fully-fledged offline mode for Payday 3, but it was loosely hinted at in their press release. In their September 25 post, the devs addressed the matchmaking issues:

“Starbreeze is currently evaluating all options, both short- and long-term. In the short-term, this means Starbreeze’ focus is to ensure the player experience. In the long-term, this means evaluating a new partner for matchmaking services and making PAYDAY 3 less dependent on online services”

Starbreeze Studios’ CEO also hinted at an offline mode for Payday 3 in an X (formerly Twitter) post made on September 24, 2023:
