A decade past its previous installment, Starbreeze Studios’ co-op heist shooter is back with Payday 3. Payday 2 is on Steam Deck, so here’s everything we know about whether Payday 3 is also available on Valve’s handheld device.

For any aspiring bank robber, Payday 3 is the perfect simulator. Set in New York, a group of three hard-working clowns are trying to make money. They visit door to door, from banks to jewelry stores, politely asking for money, like any thief.

You can play Payday 3 with your friends on different platforms, and the PC requirements aren’t too steep either. Unfortunately, it isn’t on Nintendo Switch, but what about Steam Deck?

Payday 3 is not available on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, as it is only available on next-gen consoles.

Can you play Payday 3 on Steam Deck?

Payday 3 does not have official Steam Deck support, and the only way to play it is via Steam Deck’s Proton compatibility. Despite Payday 2 being Steam Deck Verified, Payday 3 remains without any support on Valve’s handheld.

On the performance front, the developers dropped the DRM system Denuvo just a week before the release, and now the game is very stable on the Steam Deck. Some players report mixed results as well, so you may have to tinker with the in-game setting a little bit.

But all that being said, there is still a high chance that it’ll be officially verified on Steam Deck sometime in the near future.
