Is Skull and Bones on PS4 & Xbox One?

Skull and Bones is Ubisoft’s new action-adventure game that sees players take on the persona of pirates during the 17th century. Whether in single-player or multiplayer, Skull and Bones allows you to explore the Indian Ocean, engaging in naval warfare to become the most infamous pirate.

Complete contracts, craft new, more powerful ships, and expand your crew to become a powerful player on the open seas. Skull and Bones is extremely vast, with many RPG aspects to manage, leaving some wondering whether it will be available on the older generation of consoles.

So, with that said, here’s whether or not Skull and Bones is available on PS4 or Xbox One.

Is there a Skull and Bones PS4 or Xbox One release?

Skull and Bones is not be available on PS4 or Xbox One on its February 16, 2024 release date. The game launches exclusively on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store, and Amazon Luna.

Ubisoft has confirmed this on the official Skull and Bones website, which details the platforms that the game will be available on. The game was originally set to release on PS4 and Xbox One, but unfortunately, due to delays and perhaps the ambitious nature of the project, the devs decided to abandon a last-gen version of the game.

Skull and Bones offers a lot of content for players, from an open world with multiplayer to various customization options and impressive graphics. Due to the size and demanding nature of the game, the devs likely made the decision to abandon a PS4 and Xbox One version of the game to prevent limitations on its development.

That said, we have seen titles such as Hogwarts Legacy eventually produce a PS4 and Xbox One version, so never say never. If anything changes, we’ll be sure to update this piece, but as of now, it seems Skull and Bones is strictly a current-gen title.
