Skull and Bones features plenty of PvP as well as PvE content, but what about a full-fledged single-player campaign? Here is whether Skull and Bones has a story mode.

Skull and Bones is now in its inaugural Season 1, and while it did not make a wave as Ubisoft would hope, there are still plenty of players enjoying it.

It was strictly a multiplayer PvP-focused online game when it was first announced, way back in 2017. But it takes place in the Golden Age of Piracy, an era known for maritime warfare filled with famed pirates, so the setting lends itself perfectly to a single-player narrative.

Here’s whether Skull and Bones features a single-player campaign.

Does Skull and Bones have a single-player campaign?

No, Skull and Bones does not have a single-player campaign. While it can be played solo, it doesn’t feature any traditional campaign mode that you’d expect from single-player games like Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry.

Skull and Bones has a shared open world, and you’ll see real players along the way.

Does Skull and Bones have a story?

While Skull and Bones doesn’t have an overarching story it has narrative elements, in bits and pieces in the form of contracts, scattered pages of lore, and general side quests that tell you more about the world. It also has a small narrative to set off your journey.

The game starts with you being cast away following an epic ship battle. From there on, you’ll begin your usual rags-to-riches story, and your objective is to become the most infamous pirate to sail the seas. It’ll introduce plenty of characters, but they aren’t part of a wider story and are mostly there for progression, like handing out missions.

Main Contracts are pretty much the closest to a campaign, there are cross to two dozen of them, and they’ll fetch you around 30 hours.

Skull and Bones is primarily exploration-focused, so your main goal is to explore the open world, take contracts, rank up, upgrade your ship, and become a fearsome plunderer. If you’re on the fence, you can try a free trial, where all your progress will carry over.

Of course, should there be any news about such a mode in the future or any leaks, we’ll be sure to update you. For more on the game, check out:
