Destiny 2 players will be introduced to a brand new vehicle type known as a Skimmer. Here’s a guide on everything you need to know about it.

Bungie hosts four major events in Destiny 2 every year, and the Guardian Games is one of them. Starting next week, Guardian Games will make a comeback to the game and will stay for three weeks as usual.

Along with the Guardian Games, where the best class in the game will win bragging rights for the rest of the year, Bungie will also be introducing a brand new vehicle known as the Skimmer in Destiny 2.

From the looks of it, the Skimmer resembles a surfboard, so here’s everything you need to know about this vehicle in Destiny 2.

How to unlock Allstar Vector Skimmer in Destiny 2

As mentioned in the Bungie blog post on February 29, 2024 the Allstar Vector Skimmer in Destiny 2, can be obtained by completing the onboarding mission that you collect from Eva Levante at the Tower.

After you’ve collected this item from her, you will have to complete a questline known as “Drop In”. Once you complete that successfully, you will be able to keep the Allstar Vector Skimmer in Destiny 2 for good.

Alternatively, Bungie will be selling another Skimmer in the Eververse Store for you to purchase. Although it’s currently unclear if the item will be available for Bright Dust, it’s unlikely.

Skimmers in Destiny 2
Skimmers can be used just like Sparrows in the game.

Considering that Bungie is already giving away the Allstar Vector Skimmer for free in Destiny 2, there’s a chance that the other one will be sold for Silver.

It’s worth noting that these Skimmers will occupy the same position as the Sparrows in Destiny 2, and are being added as an alternate vehicle. So you will most likely be able to use them in Raids and Dungeons as well.

Bungie also mentioned in their blog post that players will be able to grind rails with this item, so there is a chance that players might have the option to perform stuns with the Skimmers in Destiny 2, while shredding enemies with SMGs or Exotics.
