The Necrochasm in Destiny 2

Knowing all of the steps on how to get the Necrochasm in Destiny 2 will net you another Exotic Auto Rifle to add to the collection. This guide will run you through exactly how to get it and add it to your arsenal.

The Necrochasm is one of those weapons that has a history in the Destiny franchise, finally making its way from the original game to the sequel. Thankfully, what this means is that it requires a similar process to secure it, but if you’re aware of this method, you’ll also know that it will take some serious time.

Other Exotics such as the Hierarchy of Needs, Touch of Malice, and Xenophage are also examples of weapons that can take some time to get your hands on but, like the Necrochasm, will be worth the investment.

Let’s get into the steps on how to get the Necrochasm in Destiny 2.

How to get Destiny 2 Necrochasm

To get the Necrochasm in Destiny 2, you will have to secure the Husk of the Pit, level it to become the Eidolon Ally, and then collect Essence of the Oversoul to turn it into the Necrochasm.

How to complete Husk of the Pit quest step in Destiny 2

In order to get the Husk of the Pit and begin the whole process, you must trigger the Bottomless Pit quest. This is done by completing the Crota’s End Raid and interacting with the felled Hive god’s sword, which is the vendor for this activity, and accepting the quest.

The Husk of the Pit is the first weapon you need to complete for the Necrochasm.

After you accept the quest, you will automatically receive the Husk of the Pit. Now, your task is to defeat 100 Hive to fully level it up. However, instead of going around and grinding 100 Hive, there are in fact some enemies that count for more than one kill, accelerating the process dramatically.

These enemies are the ones that spawn inside the Crota’s End Raid so you’ll be heading in there once again to make progress in this quest.

If you’d rather stay out of the Raid and have more of a relaxing time of it, you can instead enter the Altars of Sorrow on the Moon activity and Hive will almost endlessly spawn, making the task extremely easy. These kills do only count as one, but it will still be a quick affair.

How to complete Eidolon Ally quest step in Destiny 2

As soon as you complete the Husk of the Pit task in Destiny 2, it will transform into the all-important Eidolon Ally. As previously alluded to, you will have to again complete a task, with this one relating to an item called Essence of the Oversoul.

You’ll have to collect a total of 20 Essence of the Oversoul, and you will be heading back into the Crota’s End Raid to find these.

To be more specific, completing one full run of the Crota’s End Raid will net you two Essence, if it is your first run of the week, and any subsequent completions will result in one Essence per completion.

The key to securing the Necrochasm is through collecting Essence in the Raid.

This is quite a daunting task since it means you’ll have to do a bunch of runs in order to get the task done, but there is an additional way to top up your Essence stores. This is tied to completing various Triumphs related to the Raid, and if you complete all of these, you can secure an additional fourteen toward the total.

After you wrap up this pretty lengthy last weapon task, all you need to do is defeat Crota once more and you’ll have your hands on the Necrochasm! Just speak to the aforementioned vendor at the end of the Raid and you should be able to pick up the Exotic.
