In Fortnite, you have the option of hiring most of the NPCs that you find, and players suggest that you should always hire these characters whenever you come across them.

In Fortnite, every single skin that you see in the Battle Pass is a character on the map. Apart from the bosses on the island, every single NPC sells some item or the other and most of them can be hired.

Each of these characters that you hire has some unique abilities as well, that can make survival easy for you. However, to hire these NPCs, you need gold, a currency that you can earn through several ways in the game.

Redditor ‘jai_hanyo’ took to the platform to ask his fellow loopers if it was worth hiring NPCs in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, because they never saw good results when they had done so.

Fortnite players on Reddit, however, strongly supported the idea of hiring an NPC in the game with some of them even claiming these characters feel like “hacks.” One player said, “Tbh the NPCs are hacks in this game. Usually if they’re shooting at something, it’s because there are players or enemy NPCs in that area.”

Players listed out some more reasons, and highlighted some of the other characters that everyone should hire. ‘Solarshift’ commented, “People have already mentioned the grenadier guys (Metal Mouth, Mecha Cuddle) and Snake, but don’t sleep on Dara or the surfer guy (Sun Tan Specialist). They’re maybe the best hires you can have, since they’ll actively heal you/restore your shield.”

Others came up with creative ideas for using NPCs in Fortnite. A Redditor said, “You can use them for information. Send them to a spot you’re cautious of and draw fire. That will give you a good indicator of enemies in the area or in a building.”

Overall, players feel that irrespective of the mode, Fortnite NPCs can always be a wonderful addition to the team. For more information on Fortnite, be sure to check out the 28.30 update early patch notes, and how to land at hotspots in the game.
