When the Chapter 4, Season 1 update finally went live, Fortnite players were treated to a ton of fun new content to check out, including a changed map, the Trail Thrasher vehicle, and the Shockwave Hammer.
The seasonal update also brought Hot Spots back to the map, and players are looking to visit these locations after hopping into the game. We’ve got you covered with how you can find and land at Hot Spots.
What are Hot Spots in Fortnite?
Hot Spots are POIs on the map with flying drones carrying high-rarity loot. These were first added to Fortnite in Chapter 1, Season 9, and have now returned to the island in Chapter 4, Season 1.
When visiting these locations, you can shoot down drones to collect powerful weapons early on in the match. There will be multiple drones in one Hot Spot so you’ll have plenty of options to choose from.

How to land at Hot Spots in Fortnite
One of the new Fortnite Weekly Quests requires you to drop at three Hot Spots, and these locations are chosen at random at the start of every match. You can find them by opening up the map and looking for gold-colored POI names.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Hop into Fortnite.
- Open up the map while in the Battle Bus.
- Search for a gold-colored POI name.
- Mark that location and jump from the Battle Bus.
- Land at the Hot Spot.
Doing this three times will mark the Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1 Weekly Quest as completed. We recommend collecting useful weapons and gear as soon as you land as enemy players will also visit Hot Spots.
