Fortnite Hunters Chapter 6

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 has a fresh roster of NPCs on the island, with many being part of the seasonal storyline and others from previous seasons. Aside from purchasing weapons and items from these NPCs, you can also hire some of them, provided you’ve got enough gold bars to spare.

So, here’s how you can hire NPCs in Fortnite, along with the list of NPCs that you can hire in the game.

How to hire a Fortnite NPC

To hire NPCs in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, you just need to approach and interact with them, and they’ll request up to 250 Gold Bars for their services. You can do it by following these simple steps:

  1. Approach the NPC.
  2. Interact to begin a dialogue.
  3. Select ‘Hire NPC’ on the right side of the dialogue wheel.
  4. The NPC will now follow and fight for you. Some might also mark useful items, provide ammo, or heal you during the match.

Keep in mind that you can give different commands to NPCs while you travel through the island. You can make them follow you, scout an area, revive you, and more.

Which Fortnite NPCs can you hire?

As of December 2024, you can hire four NPCs in the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 map, and here’s a list of all of them with their locations:

  • Cinder (Heavy Specialist) – Wooden walkway (southeast of Pumped Power)
  • Helsie (Medic Specialist) – Canyon Crossing
  • Mizuki (Supply Specialist) – Southwest of Lost Lake
  • Vi (Scout Specialist) – Southern side of Seaport City

The map below will give you an approximate idea of where you can find these NPCs:

How to command Fortnite NPCs

Once you hire an NPC in Fortnite, you can give them different commands by holding the middle mouse button on PC or the left button of the D-pad on your controller.

This will open up a wheel where you can select four different actions:

  • Move to a marked location.
  • Wait on the spot.
  • Follow the player (default).
  • Dismiss NPC.

If you’re playing with friends in Duos, Trios, or Squads, you can also command NPCs to revive your teammates when they’re knocked out.

That covers everything you need to know about hiring NPCs in Fortnite. Aside from hiring NPCs, you can also level up by completing weekly quests in Chapter 6 Season 1, or in the new Fortnite OG game mode, so keep that in mind.
