Leveling up Clive and watching him become more powerful is one of the most rewarding parts of Final Fantasy 16, but players might be wondering if there’s a maximum level they can reach. Here’s everything you need to know about the level cap in Final Fantasy XVI.

Final Fantasy 16 is chocked full of things to do, whether it’s burning through the main story and side quests or tracking down valuable weapons to aid Clive on his journey. All the while, players are earning XP to level up and grow more powerful.

Climbing the levels is essential, as some of the most deadly enemies in the game can make short work of your health bar if you’re not up to scratch. But what’s the maximum level that Clive can reach?

Here’s everything you need to know about the Final Fantasy 16 level cap, both in your first playthrough and New Game Plus.

What is Final Fantasy XVI’s level cap?

Final Fantasy 16 has a level cap of 50 during the first playthrough, meaning that players can not level up any further once the limit has been reached. After level 50 has been hit, side quests can still be completed but there will be no change to Clive’s overall XP level.

Don’t worry, though, the epic battle that concludes Final Fantasy XVI’s story is also level 50, so you won’t feel underpowered by the time you reach the end.

Final Fantasy XVI New Game Plus level cap

Starting a Final Fantasy 16 New Game Plus playthrough will raise the level cap up to 100, giving players 50 more ranks to grind through. Clive will begin at the level he was when you ended the first run through the game, keeping all of his gear and abilities.

The enemy difficulty will also increase to match Clive’s extra strength, so don’t expect a walk in the park, even in those introductory chapters.

That was everything you need to know about the Final Fantasy XVI level cap. For more on Square Enix’s latest title, be sure to check out our other guides:
