As you make your way through the Sanctuary in Diablo 4, you’ll realize that Elixirs are your best friend, especially when you participate in higher tier activities like Nightmare Dungeons.

How to get Profane Mindcage Elixir in Diablo 4

The only way to get a Profane Mindcage Elixir in Diablo 4 is by defeating the Hellborne enemies in the Helltides in Diablo 4.

Quite similar to Season of Blood where you got Blood-marked when you defeated too many Vampires, you’ll get Hell Marked if you defeat too many enemies in the Helltides in Season 4.

When that happens, you’ll be chased by Hellborne enemies, and when you defeat them, they’re likely to drop a Profane Mindcage Elixir.

The drop rates for this Elixir is higher in World Tiers 3 and 4, but you will come across this item in lower World Tiers too.

What does Profane Mindcage Elixir do in Diablo 4?

The Profane Mindcage Elixir is aimed at maximizing your gains from the Helltides.

The Profane Mindcage Elixir has the following effects in Diablo 4:

Increases the drop rates of Aberrant Cinders in Helltides.
Increases the rate at which your Threat meter fills up when you kill enemies in Helltides.
Increases the level of monsters by 10.

The effects of this Elixir is available for 60 minutes, but if you die while it’s active, you’ll lose out on all the effects that it has.

How to use Profane Mindcage Elixir in Diablo 4

To use the Profane Mindcage Elixir, you need to:

Access your inventory.
Navigate to the potions tab and select the Elixir.
Below the description of the item, you’ll see a button prompt with the word “Use” beside it. Click on the button and you’ll automatically consume the Elixir.

The best time to use this Elixir is when you’re entering the Helltide the moment it starts. However, remember to avoid the Blood Maiden while the effects of this item are active.

She’s a difficult boss anyway, so if you’re looking to farm for a lot of Aberrant Cinders, you should avoid her at all costs.

How to play Helltides in Diablo 4

Here’s what you need to do to participate in Helltides in Diablo 4:

Speak to Doomslayer Pira.
After you’ve spoken to them, open up your Sanctuary map and you’ll be able to see an area covered in bright red marks. That’s where the Helltide is currently active.
Now, all you need to do is make your way to the region, either by fast-traveling or by using a mount, and then start culling the forces of hell.
