Diablo 4 players frustrated as disappearing Helltide chest bug returns
BlizzardIn Diablo 4, the Helltide is an activity that players can farm to get their hands on some crafting materials and gear. However, a new Helltide update left players baffled.
Back in Diablo 4 Season 1, players had to defeat a chest guardian if they wanted to access a Helltide chest. That guardian was soon removed, and players could open the chest if they had enough Aberrant Cinders.
With the recent Diablo 4 1.3.1 update hotfix, the developers reintroduced the chest guardian. However, as players discovered, the Helltide chests were bugged following this hotfix.
Player ‘dirty-taco56’ shared the issue to the Diablo 4 subreddit. They said that Blizzard brought back the Helltide chest guardian but the chests themselves were disappearing, and this bug had left them “baffled.”
OP further added that the bug was seen in Diablo 4 Season 2 as well. They said, “The chests literally disappear. It’s a bug from Season 2 that got resurrected today. You will definitely mind when you have 275 cinders and 15 minutes left on the clock, and you spend that whole 15 minutes failing to get on a server that has the chest up.”
There were few players, however, who never even realized the Helltide chest issue was a bug. Redditor ‘CaptainCasey56’ commented, “Here I thought it just meant someone opened the chest before I did.”
In light of these bugs, players heavily criticized the developers. One fan replied, “Makes you wonder if each dev or dev team is operating off different versions of the game sometimes.”
Apart from the criticism, there were a few players who shared workarounds to fix this issue. One user mentioned, “Teleport back to town and back again, and it usually reappears.” At this point, it’s unclear if changing instances fixes the issue of the disappearing Helltide chest in Diablo 4.
With several players talking about this problem in particular, it can be assumed that another bug fix for the game is on the cards.
