Fans of the Diablo franchise recognized a hidden Diablo 3 Easter egg in the middle of the Kehjistan region in Diablo 4. Here’s what the Diablo 4 said about it.

Diablo 4 often introduces new Dungeons and regions for players to explore while they’re trying to protect Sanctuary. While Season of the Construct invited them to discover the Vaults, there are some other secret places scattered around the map where Blizzard has hidden some interesting Easter eggs.

In a Reddit post titled “Broken Portal I found while hunting Altars of Lilith,” a player shared a curious discovery they made when exploring Kehjistan with their Seneschal Companion. Surprised by the seemingly random altars that were placed around a strange sigil on the ground, the OP asked fans if there was a way to activate it.

Diablo 4 players confirmed that there wasn’t a specific way to turn it on, nor to use it to summon bosses, buy they did notice that the place had a resemblance with the Hidden camp shown in Diablo 3.

“The whole area is a recreation of D3 Caldeum area, down to the last building. Go around a little, and you’ll see Alcanus,” described a user.

Caldeum was first introduced in Diablo 3 as one of the former capitals of Kehjistan. This location was the first revealed after Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, and was part of the announcement trailer for Diablo 3. During Diablo 3, Caldeum was occupied by Belial, Lord of Lies, and was completely tarnished after the events of the Reaper of Souls expansion.

Diablo 4 fans praised Blizzard for including some reference to Diablo 3 in the latest edition, and wonder if this area might be used again in the next seasons or even The Vessel of Hatred expansion coming at the end of 2024.

And that’s everything on the Diablo 3 Easter egg that fans found in Diablo 4. If you want to know more about Blizzard’s ARPG, you can check why Diablo 4 players are begging devs to include new Dungeons in Hell, and what change fans need to make Uniques feel more special.
