Best Destiny 2 Warlock build for PvP and PvE

Destiny 2 Warlock

The best Destiny 2 Warlock build requires proper synergy between the Exotic armor and the choice of subclass. This guide will help you figure out which Exotics to use and how to set up your build for Warlocks in the game.

In Destiny 2, Warlocks are capable of dealing a lot of damage even with the most basic setup. What’s more interesting is that the class is capable of buffing their allies through their abilities as well.

If you’re playing as a Warlock, you will be an important asset to any team, especially for the endgame activities like Raids and Grandmaster Nightfalls.

That said, here are the best Warlock builds that you can use to complete activities in Destiny 2 Season of the Wish.

Best Destiny 2 PvE Warlock build

Solar Warlocks have always been an asset to each and every team irrespective of the activity in Destiny 2 because of their Well of Radiance Super ability. Whenever you cast this Super, its effect spreads over a short area. Players standing within this radius are constantly healed and get a short damage boost as well.

Here are all the components that you need to make the best Warlock build in Destiny 2:

Stat Priority

In the current Destiny 2 meta, you need to focus on your Resilience stat first because it grants you damage resistance. Next, you need to focus on your Recovery because it influences how quickly your class ability cools down.

Finally, you also need to focus on your Discipline stat because that will affect how quickly your Grenade ability cools down.

Sunbracers Destiny 2
If you get the rotation right, you can spam Solar grenades with the Sunbracers

Abilities

  • Super: Well of Radiance
  • Jump: Burst Glide
  • Grenade: Solar Grenade
  • Melee: Incinerator Snap
  • Class Ability: Healing Rift

Fragments and Aspects

  • Aspects:
    • Icarus Dash
    • Touch of Flame
  • Fragments
    • Ember of Ashes
    • Ember of Resolve
    • Ember of Searing
    • Ember of Benevolence

Best Destiny 2 PvE Warlock build Exotics

Most Solar Warlock builds in Destiny 2 used Starfire Protocol. However, the Exotic chest piece was nerfed and isn’t as potent as it used to be previously. The Exotics you need are:

  • Sunbracers
  • Verity’s Brow

You can always use the Sunbracers Exotic, and through it you can literally spam grenades. Alternatively, you can also use Verity’s Brow. This is an underrated Exotic but it works well with grenade builds in Destiny 2.

Verity's Brow
The Verity’s Brow works well with grenade builds across all subclasses.

You don’t need to switch out on your Super abilities. The Well of Radiance is a good enough Super, as long as you’re on the Solar subclass.

If you’re using the Sunbracers, then you need to get a kill with your melee ability to activate the intrinsic perk on the Exotic. As for the mod setup, use mods that will return melee ability energy.

If you’re using Verity’s Brow, then make sure you use a Solar weapon. Whenever you get kills with the weapon, you’ll receive a buff called Death Throes. With this buff active, you’ll receive bonus grenade damage and increased grenade ability energy regeneration.

Best Destiny 2 PvP Warlock build

Unlike Hunters, Warlocks don’t really have too many neutral Exotics for PvP activities in Destiny 2. However, given how the class is designed, Warlocks can dominate the field without using any Exotics to begin with.

Here’s how you can create the best Destiny 2 Warlock PvP build:

Stat Priority

In PvP, you still need to focus on your Resilience stat because of the damage resistance. The next stat that you need to focus on is Recovery because that affects how quickly your class ability cools down.

You also need to focus on the Strength stat, for quick melee ability cooldowns.

Osmiomancy Gloves Destiny 2
The Osmiomancy Gloves works well with Stasis builds

Abilities

  • Super: Winter’s Wrath
  • Jump: Burst Glide
  • Grenade: Coldsnap Grenade
  • Melee: Penumbral Blast
  • Class Ability: Healing Rift

Fragments and Aspects

  • Aspects:
    • Glacial Harvest
    • Bleak Watcher
  • Fragments
    • Whisper of Durance
    • Whisper of Rending
    • Whisper of Chains
    • Whisper of Shards

Best Destiny 2 PvP Warlock build Exotics

The Exotics you use in PvP depend on your playstyle but you cannot swap between them because some PvP activities come with the No Swap modifier. Whenever that modifier is active, if you swap Exotic armor pieces then you lose all ability energies.

Mantle of Battle Harmony in Destiny 2
This Exotic focuses on increasing weapon damage.

That said, the Exotics you need for the best Destiny 2 PvP Warlock builds are:

  • Osmiomancy Gloves
  • Mantle of Battle Harmony

With the Osmiomancy Gloves, you can spam Stasis Turrets with your Coldsnap grenades. This comes in handy if you want to stop your enemies from pushing into your position, or if you want to flank the enemy.

The Mantle of Battle Harmony Exotic focuses on damage bonuses. Since you’re running the Stasis subclass here, if you have a full Super bar, then your Stasis weapons will get bonus damage for as long as you don’t use your Super ability in Destiny 2.
