The Modern Warfare 3 x The Boys Supe Takedown event is in full swing, but the challenge to earn melee kills using Blacklight Flashlight is causing players problems. So, here’s everything you need to know about Blacklight Flashlight in MW3.

Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 Reloaded has arrived, bringing with it new weapons like the HRM-9 as well as a ton of Zombies content. It also brought the latest crossover with Amazon Prime’s The Boys, which is set to add even more Operator skins to the game.

The collaboration comes with the new Supe’d Up LTM, as well as a fresh set of event challenges to earn a The Boys-themed camo. However, one of the objectives asks players to score melee kills using Blacklight Flashlight, which has left many players confused.

So, what is Blacklight Flashlight in MW3? Here’s everything you need to know.

MW3 Blacklight Flashlight explained

Blacklight Flashlight is one of Modern Warfare 3’s Perks, which can be equipped to any class. You can find it under the Gear tab when creating a custom loadout.

It works in a very similar way to the Tracker Perk players will remember from previous CoD titles, as it highlights recent enemy footsteps on the ground. This allows you to hunt down rival players by following their trail.

How to get melee kills using Blacklight Flashlight in MW3

We recommend equipping a melee weapon to help you earn melee kills using Blacklight Flashlight in Modern Warfare 3, rather than relying on your standard melee attack. The Karambit or Combat Knife will eliminate a player instantly, while the regular attack will take a couple of hits.

Although the challenge is part of The Boys: Supe Takedown event, it’s also much easier to complete it in regular multiplayer matches rather than the Supe’d Up LTM. This is because the Temp V drops in The Boys mode grant extra armor, meaning melee weapons will require more hits to earn a kill.

With this in mind, loading into normal multiplayer games, preferably on smaller maps like Shipment, Meat, or Rust, is the way to go. You can also make full use of Blacklight Flashlight by equipping Covert Sneakers to mask your footsteps and help you sneak up on players.
