Warzone Season 1 brought the new Urzikstan map and some players are struggling to adapt to the water physics. After a popular streamer made their concerns public, science came to the aid of a Warzone dev who claimed that water physics are working as intended.

Players are still getting accustomed to Warzone’s new Urzikstan map after the Season 1 update arrived on December 6. While many have praised the fluid movement and QoL updates, certain features like the match intro and in-game audio have fallen short of expectations.

Urzikstan also features plenty of water that divides most of the POIs from the center of the map. The swimming and water mechanics in general have been a hot topic since the start of Season 1.

After Urzikstan’s water prevented them from picking off an enemy player, Warzone streamer FaZe Santana posted a clip to X, calling out the Warzone devs and suggesting that they look into how bullets interact with water across Urzikstan.

GamesRadar+ shared that not only did Warzone Build and Automation Engineer KasikaQC respond to the clip by stating that the water mechanics are “working as intended,” but a community note appeared under the post and it uses science to explain why bullets slow down when fired into water.

The community note links to a MythBusters clip that explains why and how bullets fired into water lose their velocity. Santana’s frustration was made worse as players flamed him in the replies for not knowing how water works when bullets are involved: “BREAKING: Streamer finds out how water works when shot into.”

The evidence proves that there’s no need for the Warzone devs to work on any water physics changes since they’ve achieved the intended realism that they hoped to create when it comes to bullets hitting underwater players.

However, the lack of realism in other aspects of the game was quickly pointed out by fellow content creator Maven who said: “I’m sorry your mentions are just filled with realism randys.” Santana seemed to agree and replied with: “It’s insane this is what realism they pick to fight for.”

Thanks to science, the community note, and the Warzone devs’ reply, Santana certainly receives a clear answer to the question he poses in the clip: “How are my bullets not hitting him?”
