SMGs have been dominating Warzone’s close-range fights ever since MW3’s weapons arrived, but there’s one Modern Warfare 2 option with “incredibly quick TTK” you shouldn’t sleep on.

Warzone’s Urzikstan map and Modern Warfare 3 integration have been a hit, with MW3’s weapons quickly becoming the meta options.

Call of Duty meta expert WhosImmortal broke down the best SMG loadouts in Warzone, highlighting obvious choices like MW3’s WSP Swarm and Striker, but also picked out the best MW2 SMG to use. If you’re looking for an underrated choice that shreds up close, then look no further than Modern Warfare 2’s ISO 9mm.

Describing it as “by far the best MW2 SMG,” WhosImmortal said its “TTK is incredibly, incredibly quick in those first 10 meters or so.” With it being easy to use and killing fast, he said the ISO 9mm is “really, really good for close-range gun fights.”

WhosImmortal Warzone ISO 9mm loadout

  • Muzzle: Shadowstrike Suppressor S
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7mW
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Magazine: 50 Round Drum
  • Rear Grip: EXP Shear

WhosImmortal kicks off his Warzone ISO 9mm loadout with the Shadowstrike Suppressor S which has become a popular choice thanks to it concealing your shots without offering any downsides. Then, the VLK LZR 7mW Laser makes the gun snappier.

Many players don’t like the ISO 9mm’s iron sights so he recommended the Slate Reflector Optic, but you can also use something like the DR-6 Handstop for increased mobility if you don’t mind them.

The 50 Round Drum is necessary because of the “pretty crazy” fire rate, and the EXP Shear Rear Grip offers improved mobility at the cost of control.

We wouldn’t recommend pairing the ISO 9mm with something that’s purely for medium to long range like the KATT-AMR or MTZ Interceptor as the damage drop off is quite severe, but use it with something like the Pulemyot 762 or RAM-7 and you’ll have a deadly all-round loadout.
