Warzone’s new fastest-killing SMG outguns meta Striker-9

The Striker-9 has dominated the close-range meta since the Warzone Season 3 Reloaded update went live, but there’s actually another underrated SMG with a superior TTK that can completely outperform it.

The Warzone Season 3 Reloaded update introduced a ton of weapon buffs and nerfs, completely shaking up the meta across the board. Since the patch went live the Striker-9 has emerged as the go-to close-range option, but players are sleeping on the SMG with the best TTK in the entire game.

With the likes of the HRM-9 and AMR9 getting a buff, the WSP-9 has flown under the radar, but this underrated SMG is a force to be reckoned with. Since adding it to my loadouts, I’ve managed to win plenty of gunfights against enemies using the meta picks, even when it seemed unlikely.

It lacks the blistering fire rate of the other guns in its class, but it’s much easier to handle so you can land shots far more consistently. On top of that, its damage-per-shot stats are significantly higher, and its improved sprint-to-fire speed ensures you always land the first shot.

Despite its impressive performance, the WSP-9 only has a pick rate of 0.76% according to WZStats.gg. Meanwhile, the Striker-9 is comfortably the most popular SMG, appearing in over 10% of all loadouts.

Warzone expert WhosImmortal has also been raving about the WSP-9 in an upload to his YouTube channel, where he offered a breakdown of its TTK compared to its rivals.

He found that the WSP can kill a fully-plated enemy in just 720 ms up to around 18 meters when you factor in its buffed sprint-to-fire speed. The Striker-9, on the other hand, is closer to 730ms before falling to 800ms around the 12-meter mark.

The two were then virtually neck-and-neck 18 to 38 meters, before a pretty significant drop-off. However, SMGs thrive in close-range fights and aren’t built to pick off players from a distance anyway.

So, if you’re looking for a partner for the DG-58 LSW, which has the best long-range TTK in Warzone Season 3 Reloaded, equipping the WSP-9 means that, from a numbers point of view, nothing can outgun you if you’re hitting your shots.
