MW3 leaks claim Sword & Bow weapons are on the way

New weapons make their way to Modern Warfare 3 with each season, and leaks are hinting that a Sword and a Bow weapon could respectively make their way to the game in Season 2.

Modern Warfare 3 players are currently enjoying the Vortex event before the anticipated Season 1 Reloaded update rolls around on January 17. Even though MW3 is not even halfway through its debut season, players are already eager to find out what could come next in Season 2.

When it comes to Season 2, MW3 is not expected to part from its usual formula of delivering a new Battle Pass, weapons, and potentially, maps to discover. The Season 1 update brought three new weapons to the game, with the mid-season update expected to deliver the HRM-9 SMG and TAQ Evolvere LMG as well.

Thanks to leaks from el_bobberto, it seems as though the arsenal of weapons could include some interesting new additions in MW3 Season 2. On January 3, the leaker claimed that a “Sword and a Bow” could make their way to MW3 as new weapons.

I have been told MWIII will have a Sword and a Bow added to the game – the former of which has now been found in game files (me_swhiskey)

They are likely coming in Season 2, and similar weapons are also said to be coming.

The weapons are “likely to come in Season 2,” according to the leaker, so there’s no telling when they could arrive. However, the weapons have been found in the game files, hinting at their addition as post-launch content in seasons to come.

Some perceptive players in the replies to the above post theorized that the Sword could be related to the rumored Walking Dead crossover as Michone’s signature weapon.

While swords like the Dual Kodachis have appeared in Call of Duty titles in the past, there aren’t many instances of an old-school Bow weapon in the franchise. Excluding the Crossbow weapon, the latest Bow sighting in a Call of Duty game came by way of Black Ops Cold War’s Combat Bow Killstreak which also appeared in Warzone.

With such a unique weapon potentially making its way to Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, the devs will have to be cautious about balancing their integration in both games.
