Warzone 2’s St. Patrick’s Day event finally brought a one-shot Sniper Rifle to Al Mazrah and Ashika Island, and players are heartbroken now that the celebration has ended and the gun has been removed.

The Season 2 Reloaded brought plenty of new content to Warzone 2, including the new Tempus Torrent Marksman Rifle, a ton of buffs and nerfs, and quality of life changes like the Inverted Flash setting.

One of the most exciting additions was the long-awaited arrival of a one-shot Sniper Rifle as part of the St. Patrick’s Day event. The festivities turned the water on Al Mazrah green, and allowed players to collect the Shillelagh Victus XMR Blueprint from the end of the rainbow in both battle royale and Resurgence.

This was always intended to be a limited-time event, but players are already mourning the loss of the one-shot sniper now that it’s been removed.

In response to a Reddit thread created by ‘Netoxicky,’ fans revealed how much fun they’d had in Warzone 2 over the course of the weekend while the Victus Blueprint was in play.

“I hated the idea of it at first, but really came around. It was just really fun to have half the lobby dropping in the same place,” said one user. “Was super fun to try and identify which enemy had the sniper and was super fun going into the clusterf**k to try and sneakily take it out. Made for some fun teamwork outside of just fighting and rotating.”

“Killed a team early in the game and by chance they had the sniper. Went on to get 15 kills and the win, including a collateral down with one bullet,” replied another. “I know it was super OP but I felt like I had been gifted powers from above.”

Others heaped praise on the St. Patrick’s Day event overall and called for more one-off LTMs to be added to Warzone 2 in the future.

“It was so fun on resurgence. I wasn’t even mad about dying to it either lmao,” said ‘bluepot360.’ “I s**t on a lot of the decisions made in this game, but I have to give credit where it’s due. This event was the most fun I’ve had on CoD.”

Players clearly enjoyed the chaos caused by having a single one-shot sniper for the whole lobby to fight over. The community have criticized Warzone 2 since its launch for removing Sniper Rifles‘ ability to down enemies straight away with a headshot.

While many will be sad to see the weapon go, it’s been heavily rumored that Warzone 2 Season 3 will bring back one-shot capabilities to many Sniper Rifles, so fans might not have too long to wait before sniping becomes viable again.
