A new DMZ update introduced with Season 4 Reloaded in Warzone 2 is meant to punish DMZ players who have an active play style and protect players that hide from the action looking for a quick exfil.

Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded arrived on July 12, and with it, the game received new Armor Plate Carriers and a good amount of new content and changes in DMZ.

The latest DMZ update aims to protect players who prefer to stay out of the action and remain unnoticed by providing them with tools to track “aggressive” players in the match and reward them for it.

While DMZ is a mode that doesn’t require constant action, unlike Resurgence, the mode allows – or allowed – each player to choose their own way of playing, leaving them to decide the risk of exposing themselves and losing all their inventory.

It turns out that the rules of the new Hunt Contract in DMZ could penalize a section of players if their way of playing doesn’t change. With this in mind, the intention of the contract is to reduce the activity of players who tend to play aggressively, meaning they rush and eliminate teams as their main objective in the game.

Warzone 2 DMZ Hunt Contract explained

Similar to a Bounty Contract, the new Hunt Contract in Warzone 2 will warn any player who kills multiple players in the match with their team.

If they choose to ignore the warning, the game will place a Bounty on them, which will provide players in the Exclusion Zone with information about their location so that they can eliminate them. Once completed, each member of the squad who killed the Bounty player will receive $10,000.

According to the Season 4 Reloaded blog, the new Bounty DMZ Contract won’t be available in Building 21 or Koschei Complex.

If you notice less activity than normal in your next DMZ match, you will probably know the reason behind it. Players will likely be more cautious when it comes to playing offensively.
