Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded shook up the meta once again, and CoD expert Metaphor has revealed the lost SMG that has become a very viable option since the update.

Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded introduced a number of meta-changing updates to the battle royale. Not only did it bring the Tempus Torrent Marksman Rifle for players to try out, it also came with a ton of buffs and nerfs to the existing lineup of weapons.

The SMG category received plenty of balancing changes, but the Lachmann Sub and Vaznev-9k have remained the go-to options for close-range gunfights.

However, Warzone 2 expert Metaphor has revealed a loadout for an SMG that received a buff in the mid-season update which he thinks players are sleeping on.

In his March 23 video, Metaphor claimed the MX9 has what it takes to become a top SMG option in Season 2 Reloaded. It has a pick rate of just 0.3% according to WZ Ranked but got an increase to its damage ranges in the update.

He explained that many SMGs are evenly matched in Warzone 2 right now, but with the right combination of attachments, the MX9 can become a “no recoil” monster with a lightning-fast TTK.

“This thing is actually nasty,” said Metaphor in the video. “It does not move when you’re shooting it.” Check out Metaphor’s best MX9 loadout in Warzone 2 below.

Metaphor’s best MX9 loadout in Warzone 2

  • Muzzle: FTAC Castle Comp
  • Rear Grip: Bruen Q900 Grip
  • Comb: FTAC C11 Riser
  • Magazine: 32 Round Mag
  • Ammunition: 9mm Sub OP

Metaphor began his best MX9 loadout with the FTAC Castle Comp muzzle to improve the SMG’s horizontal and verticle recoil, keeping it laser accurate in mid-range fights. Then, he added the Bruen Q900 Grip and FTAC C11 Riser for faster ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds.

The 32 Round Mag was a must-have, especially in Squads matches, as it allows you to deal with multiple enemies before reloading. Finally, he equipped 9mm Sub OP ammo to inflict flinch on any player you hit, throwing off their shots and buying you valuable time.

The MX9 has struggled to make an impression in Warzone 2 so far, but with this setup, don’t be surprised to see it make a comeback as we head toward Season 3.
