When it comes to Call of Duty‘s Warzone battle royale, there aren’t many more iconic than the Kar98k, which made a triumphant return in Season 4.

It was nerfed in the Season 4 Reloaded update, and hit again with the July 2 patch, but it’s still a top quickscoping Sniper in the game, especially with the right attachments. So for those who want to take advantage of the Marksman Rifle, here’s the best Kar98k loadout you can build.

This best Warzone Kar98k build is all about increasing bullet velocity, damage range, and aim down sight speed in order to give the Marksman Rifle its snappy, one-shot feel.

The Prazisionsgewehr 762 Long Barrel, Sonic Suppressor L, and 7.92 High Grain Rounds all combine to give the Kar98k a boost in damage range and bullet velocity so that you can get the most out of the Marksman Rifle when it comes to long-range engagements.

Next, I found the Target Sling to be essential in giving the Kar98k its fast aim down sight speed, which allows you to use the iconic rifle in those closer-ranged engagements, getting quick shots off when dipping in and out of cover.

Next, Tempered means you only have to use two Armor Plates to get back to full shield, while High Alert is the perfect choice for a Sniper, as it lets you know which direction you have been seen from so that you can aim in and clap back.

As for Equipment, I love the classic Frag Grenade as I often find myself cooking and throwing it into windows and positions that I know enemies will find hard to escape from, while Smoke Grenades provide a nice out for sticky situations where there’s a lack of cover.

How to unlock Kar98k

To unlock the Kar98k in Warzone, you’ll need to unlock and complete Sector 5 of the Season 4 Battle Pass. It’s a free unlock in the Battle Pass, so there’s no need to pay for the premium version.

All you need to do is grind MW3 and Warzone until you reach Sector 5 and then unlock all the rewards in the Sector to get the Marksman Rifle.

Best alternatives

If you haven’t unlocked the Kar98k yet and are looking for a good alternative in the meantime, be sure to give the Longbow a shot, as it’s also quicker on the mobility and handling side of things compared to the other Snipers.
