Modern Warfare 2 expert TheXclusiveAce has figured out a way to “nearly eliminate sprintout time” with tuning, allowing players to be more aggressive.

Not only does Modern Warfare 2 host an abundance of weapons, with the Season 2 Reloaded update bringing yet another in the Tempus Torrent, but the variety of attachments and tuning system means each weapon has a crazy amount of customization options.

The tuning system is new to Call of Duty, and Modern Warfare 2 players are constantly experimenting with it to discover new meta loadouts and attachments. Now, TheXclusiveAce seems to have found a way to almost “eliminate sprintout time” in MW2 using the tuning system on particular attachments.

The attachments that the content creator claims can be tuned to produce “some of the best sprintout times we’ve ever seen in Call of Duty history,” are in the Laser and Rear Grip categories.

Sprintout time is the same as sprint-to-fire speed, and it’s so useful to boost this stat as it allows you to shoot your gun quicker after sprinting, increasing the chance of you landing the first shot.

For the Laser, TheXclusiveAce chose the FSS OLE-V Laser, and for the Rear Grip, the XTEN Grip, as these have the most potential for increased sprintout times after tuning in Modern Warfare 2. Not every weapon has these attachments, but their counterparts that share similar stats also work.

By simply tuning these attachments for sprint-to-fire speed and using them both, they combine for a a huge improvement in sprint-to-fire times. This trick allows you to play more aggressively and even tune LMGs like the RPK to have sprintout times that are “faster than the base SMG sprintout time.”

While you can’t tune weapons in Ranked Play, this tuning trick will come in handy for standard multiplayer and also Warzone 2. If players are looking to increase their sprintout times and play more aggressively, this tuning trick is definitely the way to do it.
