Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 include the tuning feature, allowing players to tune their attachments towards certain attributes. Here’s how to tune weapons in both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty’s create-a-class system has evolved well beyond the Red Dot Sight or Silencer from Call of Duty 4, with Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 allowing players to individually tune the positives and negatives of each attachment.

The new Gunsmith feature can be a great help in building no-recoil laserbeams and highly mobile SMGs, so we’re breaking down everything you need to know about tuning weapons in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, including how the feature works and the best way to tune the attachments.

How to unlock weapon tuning & tune weapons in Warzone 2 & MW2

To tune weapon attachments in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, you have to reach max level with the weapon, then select the tuning feature above the attachment in the Gunsmith.

Once selected, you can move the two sliders to improve one of its aspects at the cost of another. For example, you can improve a barrel’s Recoil Stabilization at the cost of Aim Down Sight Speed.

Not every attachment can be tuned in Warzone 2 and Modern 2, so look for the tuning icon next to the attachments to know whether it can be adjusted.

Weapon tuning tips in Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2

Of course, there isn’t a correct way to tune each attachment as it depends on your playstyle, but there are some tips you can use to maximize the tuning feature in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

You should note that the tuning values aren’t on a linear scale, so moving the slider all the way in one direction can cause the negatives to vastly outweigh the positives. The “radar graph” in the middle of the screen will show which attributes are affected the most, so you should pay attention to this.

You’ll be able to see how moving the slider changes the attachment’s attributes on the graph, so you should only move it until you see a sharp drop-off. Move it back before the drop-off occurs, and then you’ve optimized your attachment tuning to get the most from the positives without severe negatives.
