CoD expert reveals “extremely competitive” MW2 Assault Rifle rivals MW3 weapon meta
Activision / YouTube: WhosImmortalModern Warfare 3 has a wide variety of weapons players can use, from the new MW3 guns to the entire arsenal carried over from MW2. Surprisingly, one CoD expert found an “extremely competitive” MW2 Assault Rifle among the options to dominate in multiplayer.
To dominate Modern Warfare 3 matches, having the best weapons and loadouts is an essential requirement. With the game boasting 114 weapons to choose from, including new weapons and the complete arsenal of MW2, choosing the right one can be a difficult task.
Therefore, CoD expert WhosImmortal revealed an “extremely competitive” MW2 Assault Rifle that can rival the MW3 weapon meta. While not new to many, the FR Avancer is one of the most reliable ARs in MW2, having managed to hold its own in the mid to long-range meta since its launch in Season 5.

- Laser: FSS OLE V-Laser
- Muzzle: Casus Brake
- Barrel: 435mm FR435
- Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support Grip
- Rear Grip: SA ION
To kick off WhosImmortal’s best FR Avancer loadout for MW3, he picked the Bruen Heavy Support Grip to improve the gun’s gun kick control, aiming idle sway, and horizontal recoil. Combined with the Casus Brake to further enhance the horizontal recoil control and firing aim stability.
Then, he chose the 435mm FR435 Barrel which grants additional recoil and gun kick control, as well as bullet velocity and reduces the hipfire and Tac Stance spread.
Finally, he selected the SA ION Rear Grip to keep improving the recoil and gun kick control, combined with the FSS OLE V-Laser to boost the ADS and sprint to fire speeds, as well as improve the aiming stability.
