Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 leak reveals new weapons set for Season 2

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 players can expect new weapons in the Season 2 update, and leaks have indicated two of the weapons that are set to arrive.

Each season, Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 bring brand-new weapons for players to unlock and master. Season 1 brought four new weapons, with the Honey Badger Chimera arriving in the Reloaded update.

Of course, we can expect even more in the Season 2 update. A couple of leaks from around the time of the Season 1 Reloaded update appear to reveal the weapons arriving in Season 2 or later.

New weapons leaked for Warzone 2 & MW2 Season 2

Two new weapons, the Crossbow and Vepr-12 Shotgun are set to arrive in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 after they were leaked through both game files and the game itself.

As spotted by YouTuber WhosImmortal, the Crossbow has reportedly been found by dataminer ‘CODSploitz’ following the Season 1 Reloaded update, and they said it “should be returning as a weapon in S2.” The image attached to the tweet has been taken down by Activision which makes it all the more likely.

The Crossbow arrived in both Modern Warfare 2019 and Black Ops Cold War, with the MW version being a Marksman Rifle that can be equipped with explosive or tear gas bolts. Whether it’s scheduled for Season 2 remains to be seen but it can also be found in a campaign mission so it’s very likely on the way.

Also, content creator Mavriq found attachments in Modern Warfare 2 Private Matches that suggest that the Vepr-12 Shotgun is on the way. The Season 1 Reloaded update briefly added two unfinished Shotgun Muzzles and gun buffs spotted that one of them matches the semi-automatic Vepr-12 Shotgun.

Again, there’s no guarantee that the Vepr-12 will arrive in Season 2 but Private Matches included attachments for the Victus XMR long before it arrived, so don’t be surprised to see it in a future update.
