Modern Warfare 2 is missing a certain movement penalty that was present in Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3. Now, players are calling for the developers to bring it back.

When the Season 3 update went live in Modern Warfare 2, the Call of Duty title received a ton of new content and changes such as the FJX Imperium Sniper Rifle and more responsiveness to movement.

However, players weren’t satisfied with these movement changes, as some felt that they had been oversold on what Season 3 would achieve. Now, they’re calling for the developers to look towards Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3 when making further movement changes.

Reddit user ‘Minddrill’ shared a clip in the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit, showcasing the movement mechanic known as bunny hopping which involves jumping while shooting at your target.

In both Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3, there was a penalty for performing this as your aim would be ruined by the sway that occurred after landing. However, the clip shows that this penalty is not present in Modern Warfare 2.

The little sway when you land after bunny hopping is meant to discourage players from spamming this tactic, and many players in the thread felt that Modern Warfare 2 needs to include it as well.

One user commented: “They need to bring back that landing sway.” Another player expressed their frustration with the fact that Modern Warfare 2 has “almost no penalty for jumping around while ADS.”

The game’s aim assist along with the lack of ADS penalty makes it difficult to counter enemies that jump from around the corner. One player replied: “I was wondering why I never experienced the number of corner jumpers in BO1 and MW2, but this video makes it make sense.”

If the developers implemented an ADS penalty for bunny hopping, it may discourage players from jumping out of corners in order to attack their enemies.
