Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 may have only just begun, but fans are already starting to wonder what Season 3 might have in store. Luckily, a few details have already been revealed so here’s everything we know about Modern Warfare 2 Season 3.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 brought a ton of new content to multiplayer, including new weapons, maps, and even the long-awaited arrival of Ranked Play.

But while Season 2 Reloaded is set to double down by bringing an extra map and the Tempus Torrent Marksman Rifle, Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 is when the next full chapter of the game really begins.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 start date

Infinity Ward are yet to officially announce when Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 begins, but we’re expecting it to get underway on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. This is when the Season 2 Battle Pass is currently set to expire, which should indicate that the new season will begin on the same day.

Big updates like this one usually go live at around 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM GMT, so we anticipate that the same will be true this time around.

However, as we saw with Season 2, the devs are happy to delay if they’re not quite ready, so we’ll be sure to update this section as soon as more details are available.

Gunfight returns in Modern Warfare 2 Season 3

Alongside the launch of Season 2, Infinity Ward confirmed that the Gunfight mode will arrive during Modern Warfare 2 Season 3.

This popular playlist was first introduced in Modern Warfare 2019, pitting squads of two against one another in a bite-sized deathmatch that lasts just 40 seconds. 1v1 and 3v3 variants were also added later, and the mode featured in Black Ops Cold War as well as CoD Mobile.

It was noticeably missing from Modern Warfare 2’s launch, but it’s set to return in Season 3 complete with its own maps. The devs also confirmed that new Gunfight maps will arrive in each new season.

Nothing else has been confirmed for Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 at the time of writing, but there is plenty more expected to arrive. Each new season tends to bring certain new additions every time without fail.

So, although it’s yet to be announced, here’s everything else you can expect in Modern Warfare 2 Season 3:
