The Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 Reloaded update brought plenty of content to the game, with new weapons, maps, and more to explore. However, players are confused by one major MW3 aiming change that could make it much “easier to snipe.”

MW3 players received new content with the Season 2 Reloaded update, as players race to unlock the SOA Subverter and Soulrender. In addition to new weapons, the fan-favorite Das Haus has also arrived as a revamped map in MW3.

While the new weapons along with the buffs and nerfs stole the spotlight, plenty of players are now talking about a major change that flew under the radar when the patch notes arrived. The MW3 devs brought a change to aiming in the Season 2 Reloaded update.

The patch notes explain, “Upon aiming down sight, the crosshair will now transition directly to the center of the player’s screen rather than easing into position.” Aside from this technical description, the devs have yet to provide any other explanations, leaving players confused.

Some players believe that the change will result in a significant buff to Sniper Rifles and quickscoping, while others think it’ll have the biggest impact on mouse and keyboard players.

Initially, reactions poured in about the aiming change and its impact on Sniper Rifles: “Yay now it’s even easier to snipe! How exciting!” Upon further inspection, it seems more and more players were confused as to what the change entails: “I’m confused if this is good or bad.”

Certain players were adamant that the crosshair centering would benefit Snipers: “It’s good for something like snipers which have a really long ads time time. On MnK we don’t have aim assist to drag our center for us, instead we can flick to it now that the center is consistent.”

On the flip side, some players disputed that the change would make quickscoping easier, with one saying, “Pretty sure snipers aren’t in the ‘crosshair starts centered when ADS’ system. So quickscoping, while easy, isn’t likely going to be centered when aiming lol.”

MW3 players’ reactions were split between those who are excited at the possibility of a Sniper buff, and those who are wary of one: “I assume this means the crosshair closes in the center rather than following the muzzle? Cuz if not.. and it means what I think it means, then snipers just got a crazy accuracy buff.”

Only time will tell if and how this major aiming change will impact Modern Warfare 3 players. We’ll keep you posted as experts test out the change in Season 2 Reloaded.
