Will MW2 weapons & Operators carry over to Modern Warfare 3?

Many players who’ve been playing at the highest levels in Modern Warfare 2 have tons of items, guns, and Operators in the game. With Modern Warfare 3 right around the corner, these players are eager to know if all the content they’ve already grinded for will be available in the next title in the franchise.
Carrying over MW2 content is a good prospect, as Modern Warfare 3 is essentially the direct continuation of the game’s story in single-player as well as Warzone. And with zombies in the mix, players will want their leveled-up weapons and equipment ready.
Luckily for players, the devs officially responded to the major unknown question of what will happen to their content in Modern Warfare 3. Here’s everything we know so far.

Will MW2 weapons & Operators carry over to Modern Warfare 3?
In a recent blog post, the devs have officially announced that all MW2 unlocked content will carry over to Modern Warfare 3, including all the following:
- Weapons
- Operators & Operator skins
- Blueprints
- Camos for MW2 weapons
- Weapon Charms
- Stickers
- Emblems
- Loading Screens
- Double XP Tokens
- Certain Vehicle skins & Wartracks
- Weapon progression
- Attachments
If certain content, like a tactical vehicle, a piece of particular lethal equipment, or Wartracks, are absent in Modern Warfare 3, the unlocked items from MW2 won’t carry over. This is because these items are not present in the content ecosystem of MW3.
How will MW2 weapons carry over to Modern Warfare 3?
For weapons, every MW2 unlocked weapon from Levels 1 to 55 will carry over maintaining both their level and progress status and sharing progression within MW2 and MW3. MW2 weapons will be available in MW3’s multiplayer at launch, but won’t be available during the beta.
How will MW2 Operators carry over to Modern Warfare 3?
MW2 Base Operators need to be unlocked by completing specific challenges within MW2 (such as Campaign or Spec Ops modes). These Operators will be accessible in Modern Warfare 3 only if you’ve unlocked them, as these skins will be carried over.
How will MW2 camos carry over to Modern Warfare 3?
Luckily for many players, the devs also confirmed that all unlocked MW2 camos will be available in Modern Warfare 3. Although, as with previous titles, you will only be able to equip MW2 camos on MW2 weapons.

Modern Warfare 2 content will be available in Modern Warfare 3 at launch, such as Operators, weapons, blueprints, camos, and more that players have already unlocked before, as it will be part of the base content of MW3.
This will allow players to continue using all the content they have already spent time throughout 2022 to unlock and access from MW3 on day one.
ActivisionWhen will Modern Warfare 3 content arrive in Warzone?
The devs have confirmed that Modern Warfare 3’s content will arrive in Warzone alongside the release of Modern Warfare 3 Season 1, meaning that MW3 content won’t be available in Warzone in November, and therefore all new MW3 content will be exclusive to multiplayer.
Until Season 1 of MW3 arrives, players will still have all MW2 content available in Warzone, including all existing available content like weapons, Operators, blueprints, and more.
How to know which MW2 content will carry over to MW3?
Recently, Call of Duty has updated all Store bundles to show if the content included will be carried over to Modern Warfare 3. This new labeling should be available for all players in both MW2 and Warzone stores.
