Baldur’s Gate 3’s Carnival Djinn gives “best item” most players miss

Calling something the best item in the game in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a bold move, especially because there are so many to choose from. Some players, though, believe they have found it, and it’s not even a legendary one.

Equipment in Baldur’s Gate 3 is not only useful for doing a ton of damage or helping you take barely any. And, when discussing what the best ones may be, it’s important to think about how they can help you in any scenario – not just fights.

The Boots of Very Fast Blinking have recently been dubbed the “best item in the game” by some players. Which may sound strange, especially because they’re a consolation prize given to you by the Djinn at the carnival.

‘Tookoofox’ took to Reddit to explain exactly why they are the best, and the main reason is that they let you use Misty Step unlimited times. “That’s so good that I’m unironically considering a ‘shoes only’ build,” they explained.

The cost for using the boots is interesting, to say the least, because they make you leave all your clothes behind once you do use Misty Step. Players in the comments actually mentioned that this is why they tend not to use them.

“Wait, they don’t get left behind with the rest of your clothes? I thought that’s why they’re worthless,” a player commented. But, as the OP shared, they don’t get left behind with the rest of your clothes when you use them.

So, especially for Baldur’s Gate 3 classes that don’t rely on armor as heavily, the Boot of Very Fast Blinking can actually be an excellent addition to your arsenal when you are playing squishy characters like sorcerers or wizards and need to get out of a sticky situation quickly.

Saying that one item is the best in the game can’t really be objective, but boots that give you unlimited uses of a spell like Misty Step are definitely worth being in the conversation.

Even if you don’t think they’re the best, it can be argued that they’re pretty underrated. Especially for an item that’s meant to be the next best thing after the grand prize from the Djinn, it may be worth considering using them in your next playthrough.
