A Baldur’s Gate 3 player was impressed on realizing just how differently every NPC reacts if your character is a female Drow.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has been surprising its massive player base almost every other day since its release. Players have been discovering secret game endings, countless dialogue variations, and even well-hidden locations. Larian have done an impressive job of immersing you in D&D by representing the lore in an accurate manner.

Baldur’s Gate 3 offers quite a few D&D races to choose from and, in most cases, your race choice has little impact on your playthrough. However, a player has discovered that selecting a specific race and gender for their character provides an entirely new experience.

A Redditor named “Baumgasr” described how NPCs will have completely new dialogue if your main character is a female Drow. Multiple NPCs in Baldur’s Gate 3’s Act 1 acknowledged the fact that OP’s Tav is a female Drow. Zevlor said “he is surprised I’m not hiding my heritage and will let folks know I’m a decent person,” while Aradin “called me some derogatory nickname.”

The goblins naturally assumed that the OP’s character was an Absolute cultist because they were “a Drow in the sun.” In fact, they didn’t even need to roll a persuasion check when they went in the Blighted Village. Note that the OP was playing as a Dark Urge origin character. One user mentioned how “playing as a half drow is another level of struggle.”

“You get drow racism from non-drow who can’t tell the difference (I got the comment from Zelvor too), but you also get some snide comments from the drow as well. (Minthara had a few choice words about the “impurities of my blood”, as well as the mirror in the cellar quest),” they continued.

Another user replied that Minthara “talks s*** even if you’re full Drow. She treats racism, sexism, and sadism as checklists.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players often share their unique findings and experiences with the game. One user recently revealed how Patch 3 added the grossest weapon, while another recreated the Friends intro with their party.
