When is cross-progression coming to Apex Legends?

Apex Legends has crossplay available on pretty much every platform, and there is one thing on players’ minds – Apex Legends cross-progression, and does it exist?
Since the original launch of Apex Legends in February 2019, the game has made many strides towards catching up with competitors Fortnite and Warzone, including the introduction of a crossplay system on October 6, 2020 – uniting players across consoles and PC.
Apex Legends is now in Season 17, with new content like the Legend Ballistic for the community to check out. Players are still concerned with cross-progression and whether they can merge their accounts and progress across different platforms.
We’ll go over everything you need to know about cross-progression in Apex Legends.

Does Apex Legends have cross-progression?
No, Apex Legends currently does not feature cross-progression, so there is no way to have your rank, profile, cosmetics, Legend unlocks, and skins follow you to another platform.
The only exception is changing between the Origin launcher to Steam on PC, where you will have your data transfer over.
When is cross-progression coming to Apex Legends?
On December 17, 2022, Senior Producer Josh Medan provided a major cross-progression update by confirming that the feature is “still in progress” along with next-gen console support.
On August 2, 2022, Alpha Intel stated that while there’s no real update on cross-progression, Respawn are “actively working” on bringing the feature to the game.

However, properly implementing cross-progression is proving to be a “very technically challenging problem.” The game’s Design Director has stated that they want to get it in the game “sooner than later.”

Cross-progression was confirmed to be on the developer’s to-do list by Respawn’s ex-Game Director Chad Grenier in a 2020 Reddit post.
“It’s something we are very passionate about, and we’re looking at our options available. Much harder post-launch since users may have multiple accounts to merge or use. Easier with Steam because it’s at launch. We’ll give an update when we have something to talk about” said Grenier.

Based on Grenier’s comment, it appears that Cross Progression has a chance to come in the future, but it is currently a difficult task for the team due to users who have multiple accounts across platforms.
Hopefully, the devs can figure out how to implement cross-progression into Apex Legends. This would make life much easier for those who wish to change platforms without sacrificing their account data.
