Wondering if Monster Hunter World is crossplay? Here’s everything you need to know about the crossplay and cross-progression status of the game.

Monster Hunter World is back on the ascendency after releasing in 2018, as hype for the upcoming installment, Monster Hunter Wilds, has led to an increase in the player count for both World and Rise.

As new and old players return to Monster Hunter World, many may have questions about the game’s crossplay and cross-progression status, as it is available on all platforms, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

So, with that said, if you’re looking to find out whether or not Monster Hunter World is crossplay, here’s everything you need to know.

Is Monster Hunter World crossplay?

Unfortunately, Monster Hunter World does not feature crossplay between PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. That said, those on PS4 can party up with those on PS5, as the game is the same version, but PS5 users have more performance options. The same goes for Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

PC users are not able to party up with console players, but perhaps Monster Hunter Wilds will change this trend and finally bring crossplay to the series.

Does Monster Hunter World support cross-progression?

Monster Hunter World does not feature cross-progression, meaning you can not continue your account progression across all the game’s platforms, such as PlayStation, Xbox, or PC.

If you would like to play Monster Hunter World on a different platform, you will have to create a brand-new account and start from the beginning.
