Warzone devs respond to accidental nerf that made Sniper Rifles useless

The Warzone Pacific developers have issued a fix for the headshot damage nerf to many of the game’s Sniper Rifles following the Season 2 Reloaded update.

Sniping has always been a big part of the Warzone experience, as the game features a variety of different Sniper Rifles from Vanguard, Modern Warfare, and Black Ops Cold War that players can choose.

However, players noticed that many of these Sniper Rifles were no longer eliminating enemies with a single headshot following the Season 2 Reloaded update. This caught the attention of the devs who then issued a fix.

Warzone players that dropped into Caldera reported that Sniper Rifles could no longer one-shot enemies equipped with full plates. This seemed to be a result of the buff to players’ health that made it more difficult to eliminate them with a single headshot.

Guns like the Modern Warfare AX-50 and Cold War Swiss K31 were dishing out less headshot damage than normal. This didn’t go unnoticed by Raven Software who then addressed this issue on Twitter.

The devs tweeted: “We have pushed a small update to resolve lower than intended Sniper Rifle headshot damage in Battle Royale.” It seems that this was an accidental nerf that has now been fixed.

Caldera features plenty of vantage points to camp at with a Sniper Rifle, so this headshot damage nerf was extremely frustrating to players who prefer to engage in long-range combat situations.

It’s reassuring to know that the developers are checking for any issues that pop up following the arrival of the Warzone Pacific Season 2 Reloaded update. Hopefully, there won’t be any further issues with the weapon balancing.
