When are Private Matches coming to Warzone 2?
Many Warzone 2 players are wondering when Private Matches will be arriving in the battle royale, luckily the devs have commented on the topic.
Private Matches are pretty much a staple feature in any Call of Duty release, especially when it comes to the multiplayer experience. Fortunately for those who enjoy Private Matches, Modern Warfare 2 offered the feature at launch, allowing players to host custom games of their own.
However, when the sequel to Warzone dropped without Private Matches despite its predecessor having the feature, players were left wondering when it would arrive.
For those in the Warzone 2 community eager to host tournaments and fun Private Matches with friends and others, here are more details on when you can expect Private Matches to arrive in the free-to-play battle royale.
When will Warzone 2 Private Matches be released?
During a press briefing prior to the Warzone 2 Season 1 Reloaded update, Activision revealed that they have plans to introduce Private Matches “in the new year (2023).”
More specifically, the devs stated that players can expect Warzone 2 Private Matches “early next year (2023),” but unfortunately they did not have an “exact date to share.” Once the feature launches, it seems that Activision has big plans for “improvements as time goes on,” including the ability to “organize self tournaments” and more.
Having said that, we have seen features delayed in the past such as the leaderboard and combat record feature for Warzone 2, so don’t be too surprised if Private Matches are put on the back burner, especially as the devs have more pressing issues to attend to.
