Valorant Episode 9 is just around the corner, and the devs have provided a great preview of what players can expect from the highly anticipated 8.11 update. Check out the early patch notes for the Valorant 8.11 update.

Valorant Episode 8 Act 3 is nearing its end, and the devs have released the 8.11 update that will make room for the highly-anticipated Episode 9. In a dev update video, Riot revealed the most important details coming with the highly anticipated Valorant update such as map rotation, agent balance changes, and more.

Valorant 8.11 update release date

The Valorant 8.11 update arrived on June 11, 2024, and now all players can download the new update and jump into Valorant and try all new stuff including a new map and a lot of Agent changes.

What changes will Valorant 8.11 update bring?

The 8.11 update of Valorant will bring multiple significant changes to the meta through the highly anticipated map pool rotation and major adjustments to Duelists, focusing on Raze, Reyna, and more. While Riot have revealed an early list of details, they have also confirmed that these are just a preview of the Agent updates coming in that patch and that more Agents may be added to the update.

Valorant 8.11 update: Map rotation changes

The devs have confirmed that Breeze and Split will be rotating out in Valorant Patch 8.11, making room for Haven. In addition, they announced Abyss, which was announced during VCT Masters Shanghai on June 9, 2024, will arrive to map rotation on Patch 9.0 (Episode 9).

Here’s how the Valorant map pool will look after the 8.11 update:

  • Ascent

  • Haven
  • Icebox
  • Lotus
  • Sunset

The following maps will not be available in the map pool after the 8.11 update:

  • Breeze
  • Fracture
  • Pearl
  • Split
  • Abyss – New Map

Valorant 8.11 update: All Agent changes

In addition to the map rotation, the devs are also setting significant adjustments to the Duelists in Valorant, with Raze and Reyna being the most affected. Other Agents like Iso and Neon are also receiving some interesting buffs.

Without further ado, check out all the Agent changes that Riot revealed for the Valorant 8.11 update.

ISO

  • Doble Tap [E]
    • Now grants Iso a shield upon finishing a 1-second animation during which he can’t use his gun.
    • Reduced ability charges from 2 to 1.
    • Iso gets a charge back if he gets two kills
    • Iso now receives a Wall Penetration tag instead of a standard Heavy Penetration tag when the shield is broken. (This means he’s slowed less upon his shield breaking.)
    • Iso now gets a damage indicator towards the direction of the enemy that broke the shield
    • Iso can now recast Double Tap while it’s active to refresh the duration of the shield.

Neon

  • Fast Lane [C]
    • Reduced wall duration from 6s to 4s
    • Increased wall dissolve duration from 1s to 2s
  • High Gear [E]
    • Sprint
      • Neon no longer has her strafe speed reduced while sprinting
      • Increased max. sprint speed from 6.73 meters/second to 9.11 meters/second
      • Reduced time until full fuel regen from 60s to 20s
    • Slide
      • Increased slide charges from one to two
      • Neon now removes all weapon movement errors when sliding (This gives her more accuracy while sliding)
      • Second slide cost: 150
      • Equips out of slide: Fast -> Instant (There is 0.2 seconds before her gun comes out after sliding)
  • Relay Bolt [Q]
    • Reduced ability charges from two to one
    • Reduced windup delay from 1.1s to 0.8s
    • Increased concuss duration from 3.0s to 3.5s

Reyna

  • Devour [Q]
    • Healing decreased from 100 to 50
    • Full heal time reduced from 3s to 2s
    • Overheal of armor no longer decays after a timer
  • Dismiss [E]
    • Top speed increased from 9.1 meters/second to 12 meters/second
    • Total ability duration reduced from 2s to 1.5s
  • Empress [X]
    • Empress no longer has a timer and is permanent until Reyna is killed or the round ends

Raze

  • Blast Pack [Q]
    • Raze’s satchels no longer explode for damage/knockback upon opponent destruction
    • Slowed Raze’s horizontal velocity when satcheling

Clove

  • Pick-Me-Up [C]
    • Increased cost from 100 to 200
    • Reduced duration from 10s to 8s
    • Reduced damaging assist time to active ability from 10s to 6s
  • Not Dead Yet [X]
    • Increased cost from 7 to 8
    • Increased unequip delay from 0.7s to 0.8s
    • [Bug Fix] Clove’s ultimate will no longer survive the fighting state if they get a smoke assist
