Starfield is already regarded as one of the best RPG titles released this year by many. However, there are those who disagree as the game is being review-bombed, in some cases by players who haven’t even started the game.

Bethesda recently announced that Starfield has achieved the most successful launch in their history with 6 million players after day one. Even after such success, the latest RPG by Bethesda was prey to review-bombing.

Many fans of the game have dug deep into the issue and found out that several negative reviewers have not even played the game. The game has its fair share of performance issues, but many wonder about the negative reviews and the reason behind such harsh measures against Starfield.

Starfield’s user score plummets after review bombing

Starfield has been rated an impressive 87 on Metacritic for PC by various critics and media outlets. But there are many who do not agree with that as the game’s rating drops significantly on Microsoft and Xbox stores. As of writing, the game stands at a 2.8 rating on both platforms.

Starfield being available on Xbox Game Pass was a great way of inviting more players to enjoy the title. However, it seems that it has attracted heaps of negative reviews along with it too.

Twitter user ‘PeterOvo’ has dug deep into the matter and has identified that one of the negative reviewers has not even played Starfield yet as they do not even have the first Achievement. If you are wondering what the achievement is, it is just getting off the first planet. But this did not stop them from calling the game “buggy, unoptimized, and woke.”

PeterOvo even states that this might be the result of the ongoing “console war” between Xbox and PlayStation. Starfield has not been released for PlayStation, so this might attract some negative reviews from some angry PlayStation users, as suggested by PeterOvo.

The console war regarding Starfield is heating up as there seems to be no plans from Bethesda’s end just yet to release the game on PS5. It is only available for PC and Xbox, at least for now. Even after such events, the devs remain satisfied with the game’s performance as they focus on The Elder Scrolls 6.
