A Starfield player showed off how the game reacts to your different outfits when appearing for an interview at Ryujin Industries.

Starfield has a wide range of quests featuring different NPCs, all of whom have their own opinions and motivations. As a Bethesda RPG, the game world often reacts to your actions, or in some cases, simply to your appearance. Such is the case for one NPC in Starfield, who has different comments for different types of outfits.

A Redditor took to the Starfield subreddit to share all the different responses, and the community is amazed by the level of detail. The encounter happens during the mission where you join Ryujin Industries, called Back To The Grind. The NPC you talk to for your interview is Imogen Salzo, the senior operations specialist at Ryujin Industries. You can find her at the Ryujin Industries headquarters in Neon.

The post, captioned “First impressions matter – Interview attire” by Redditor ‘Lexi_______’ has already got over 5,500 upvotes. Here are the different types of attire the OP wears during the interview and Salzo’s comments on them:

  • Civilian outfit: “I hope you’re more prepared than the last one.”
  • Spacesuit: “Great, a full spacesuit. Corporate environments aren’t THAT toxic…”
  • Underwear: “Great, a walking HR violation already…”
  • Tardigrade Monster Spacesuit: “Are you kidding me with that costume? Just when I thought this day couldn’t get worse…”

Most Redditors disagreed with Salzo’s remark about the spacesuit, having learned how toxic corporate environments can be, albeit not in the literal sense. What makes these remarks so funny is that her next comment is always the same. She asks you to take a seat and proceeds to take your interview. No matter what you answer during this session, you’ll always be recruited at Ryujin.

It could simply be a safeguard Bethesda put in place to prevent Starfield players from being locked out of the Ryujin Industries questline. As one player found out, “I went in and did everything I could to not get hired. Still hired.”

Most players found this entire sequence funny, as one Redditor wrote, “Idk why but the thought of Imogene telling me my fit is wack makes me chuckle.”

Nevertheless, this just goes to show that Bethesda added some details to Starfield that no one anticipated.
