Starfield is filled with hundreds of quests to take on, but players are not satisfied with one of the side missions in the game.

Starfield was one of the most popular games in 2023, as Bethesda’s newest universe went on to be globally acclaimed as one of the most influential RPG titles of the year. However, months later, the title was receiving mixed reviews from the players and the trend has been that ever since.

Some players have been continuously complaining about the quest design in the game, as many have been left unsatisfied with how the storyline flows in each mission. One such quest has been brought forward yet again, as players continue to expose Starfield‘s issues.

Reddit user ‘Mediocre-Cobbler5744’ claimed that they completed the “stupidest side quest in the game.” The mission in question is the ‘A Break At Dawn’ side quest where the player has to make a quick decision to either retrieve a ring from a thief or let him keep it.

The OP clarified that they didn’t have to investigate anything and just “took the guy’s word for it” to complete the quest. They didn’t even need to solve any mysteries or question the justification of several events in the mission.

Other players also shared their experiences as one of them mentioned how one side mission in the Neon was all about making an assistant pay for ‘spray-painting’ a weapons dealer’s robot. Some players even mentioned how such quests were “immersion-breaking” in Starfield.

“Starfield is a great game as long as you don’t read any dialogue and don’t try to roleplay,” said one of the players. Many also believed that these quests in Starfield “pretty much spit in your face for wasting your time.”

With a new Shattered Space DLC already in production for Starfield, many will be expecting a better experience in the upcoming expansion.
