Star Wars Jedi: Survivor introduces Jedi Meditation Chambers as a welcome distraction from the main story, but what are these interesting side activities?

As is the case with many sequels, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is attempting to go bigger and better than the original. Picking up five years after Jedi: Fallen Order, the sequel takes the core gameplay and looks to expand on it in a number of interesting ways.

This includes the introduction of new fighting stances, as well as fan-requested features like fast travel. It also means there will be new side activities to lead players off the beaten path, and one of these is the new Jedi Meditation Chambers.

So, here’s a breakdown of everything we know so far about Jedi Meditation Chambers in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Meditation Chambers explained

Meditation Chambers are essentially large puzzle rooms found on the various planets in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which sees players using the various abilities they have acquired to reach a specific checkpoint.

In a preview with IGN, the game’s Design Director, Jeff Magers, explained that Cal’s traversal, Force, and combat abilities will be tested in these unique rooms. In the gameplay footage shown so far, it seems that players will be tasked with using their powers to shift obstacles, activate switches, move bridges, and more.

Magers also confirmed that Meditation Chambers will be entirely optional, with the exception of one that must be completed as part of the main story. However, the team wanted to make them worth the diversion by filling them with lore of past Jedis who have attempted the Chambers, as well as offering rewards for reaching the end.

Jedi Meditation Chambers have been compared to the Shrines found in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which forced players to think outside the box to navigate a room full of brain teasers.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Meditation Chamber rewards

Jeff Magers confirmed that Perks will be the main reward for completing Meditation Chambers in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. These can be equipped to vastly change how Cal plays in combat situations and allow players to change up their playstyle.

As a side objective, the devs wanted to offer “tangible rewards” to invite exploration of the many different planets that Kestis and his crew visit.

It’s also likely that Meditation Chamabers will provide new cosmetics, allowing you to customize the way Cal looks as well as how he plays.

That was everything we know so far about Meditation Chambers in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. We’ll be sure to update this guide with any new details as we approach the April 28 launch.
