May 4 is one of the biggest days of the year for Star Wars fans, but Jedi: Survivor players have hit out at EA after server issues prevented them from enjoying the game on Star Wars Day.

Since arriving on April 28, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has become one of the biggest games of 2023, and gone down as one of the best games set in George Lucas’ sci-fi universe to date.

Millions of fans have hopped aboard the Mantis to explore the many new planets, fight imposing villains, and even build their own lightsabers. However, on May 4, widely known as Star Wars Day, many were unable to play on PC due to server issues.

Publisher EA was hit with major outages which affected many of their games, including FIFA 23 and Apex Legends. Despite being a single-player title, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was also unplayable while the servers were offline, and fans were furious.

Reddit user ‘Erik912’ posted asking how “is it acceptable that I can’t play an offline, single-player game that I bought, because the EA app servers are down?”

While console players were unaffected when the servers went down, the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is played through the EA app, which requires a constant internet connection to access.

Many players were unhappy that they suffered from server problems in an offline game, calling for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to be playable even if the launcher isn’t working.

“It’s getting a little ridiculous when I can’t even launch a single-player f**king game offline without a launcher, just let me use the fuckin exe,” said ‘Tehdonfubar555.’

Meanwhile, others were disappointed that they couldn’t celebrate Star Wars Day in the proper fashion by playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. “Pretty bad that you can’t play a brand-new Star Wars game on May the 4th,” argued ‘thomasraines123.’

Luckily, the server issues are all resolved now and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is playable on all platforms, so there’s still time to get some hours in for Revenge of the Fifth and Sixth.
