The Hidden Gems season of Pokemon Go is almost here, and Niantic are already teasing many events coming soon to the mobile game. Players will be able to take part in a new Research Day event in June to enjoy special bonuses and boosted spawns.

Pokemon Go Searching for Gold Research Day event dates
The Pokemon Go Searching for Gold Research Day event will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 2 PM to 5 PM (local time).
Pokemon Go Searching for Gold Research Day event featured Pokemon
Pokemon Go players that spin PokeStops during the Searching for Gold Research Day event might get an event-exclusive Field Research task. Completing these tasks will let trainers encounter the following Pokemon:
- Caterpie
- Magikarp
- Nosepass
- Sableye
- Barboach
Lucky trainers might encounter these Pokemon in shiny form.
Pokemon Go Searching for Gold Research Day event wild encounters
On top of the featured Pokemon, the following creatures will appear more frequently in the wild during the Searching for Gold Research Day event:
- Weedle
- Bellsprout
- Poochyena
- Buizel
- Tympole
- Shelmet
- Stufful
- Lickitung
- Azumarill
All these Pokemon can appear in shiny form, except for Azumarill.
NianticPokemon Go Searching for Gold Research Day event Timed Research
The Pokemon Go Searching for Gold Research Day event will also feature a new Ticketed Timed Research for players to tackle. Those who complete the Timed Research tasks will earn encounters with the featured Pokemon listed above.
The Timed Research Ticket will only be available in the in-game shop from Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET / 12 AM BST (June 1) to Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 5 PM (local time) costing $1 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Players will need to complete all tasks before Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 5 PM (local time) to claim the rewards.
Pokemon Go Searching for Gold Research Day event bonuses
The following bonus will be active during the Pokemon Go Searching for Gold Research Day event:
- PokeStops may turn gold without a Golden Lure Module.
Do note that Roaming Form Gimmighoul won’t appear at Golden PokeStops if a Golden Lure Module wasn’t used, according to the official blog post. However, trainers may still find Gimmighoul Coins when they spin the PokeStop.
