Winning tons of Pokemon Go PvP matches in the Go Battle League is difficult for many, but a few players have revealed some tricks to earn more victories easily and climb the Ranks.

The Go Battle League (GBL) in Pokemon Go lets players participate in challenging PvP battles alongside their best Pokemon and grab attractive rewards such as Stardust, Rare Candies, and more.

That’s not all, as a higher Rank in the GBL shows just how skilled a trainer is, so fans spare no effort in powering up and building solid PvP teams to come out on top.

But, despite their best efforts, most players find it incredibly hard to win battles in the three PvP Leagues, leaving them frustrated. The same happened with a Reddit user named ‘NaughticalSextant’ who tried to grind the GBL.

The OP posted: “PVP is just not fun” as they had been unable to earn any victories, making hardly any progress in the current World of Wonders GBL season. Thankfully, several PvP veterans hopped in to reveal some handy battling tips to ace these tough battles.

An experienced player suggested building teams under 1500 CP for the Great League with Fire, Grass, and a Water or Ground Pokemon, and using moves of the same type. They also emphasized using moves that don’t cost too much energy.

They added, “This strategy will get you winning 3-5 battles per group of 5 at least until you’re up to level 13-16 or so.” For the Water/Ground-type species, you can use Swampert, and even go with Dragon-type in place of Grass.

Another mentioned the popular ‘ABB’ strategy for Pokemon Go PvP, used by many players in all three Leagues,

“ABB is a team where two Pokemon share the same weakness, and the leading Pokemon covers up for this. Lead with A, unless you have a type advantage, always switch in B. If they kill it easily switch back to A and farm down if possible,” they explained.

To this, others asked trainers to focus on a safe switch, which involves bringing in a Pokemon that can last long enough by countering the opponent, helping you take out at least one of their shields.

These simple strategies will certainly give you a great headstart in the GBL and an edge over your opponents. While you’re at it, check out the best Elite Charged TM moves and the Candy requirements to power up the strongest species in Pokemon Go.
