If there’s something that Pokemon Go trainers never give up on, it’s hunting for the rare and elusive shiny Pokemon. The odds of finding them are typically a mere 0.2% and so, the community often grinds for days and even months to bag a shiny.
While Raids and events like the Community Day offer fans a high chance to encounter shinies, getting a full-odds (unboosted) find is extremely difficult.
So when a lucky Pokemon Go player captured a large number of full-odds shinies in just a day, others were shocked and in disbelief over the trainer’s luck.
Reddit user ‘Content_Record5919’ shared their haul of 12 shinies caught in Pokemon Go during a six-hour outing and wrote: “I had my most legendary walk today,” referring to their jaw-dropping list of captures, as they added: “I sure indeed got blessed by the gods. Wishing the best luck on y’all.”
The OP’s remarkable achievement shocked fellow Pokemon Go players as they commented: “That’s insane” and “this can’t be real.” Another astonished user mentioned, “Bro had more random shiny luck in a day than me in 2 months. What is this game.”
Fans asked how long the player’s “legendary walk” was, to which the OP replied: “I walked like 5-6 hours with my girl.”
This led users to speculate that the OP’s shiny encounter rate may have been boosted by the Party Play feature, which allows trainers to explore Pokemon Go with up to four friends on the same screen.
“Is this because of Party Play?” a fan asked, before another added: “Were you walking Routes?”
While devs Niantic haven’t given any word on shiny chances being boosted alongside the Party Play and Routes features, it goes without saying that the OP’s feat is certainly a remarkable one.
