In anticipation of Scarlet and Violet DLC, a new Pokemon that is set to appear in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero has been revealed. Here’s a look at the mysterious Pokemon and what it could mean for the upcoming DLC.

Pokemon fans are crying out for more Scarlet and Violet content since the games launched back in November of 2022. While there’s plenty to tackle including the three main story paths and recurring Tera Raid Battle events, players are eager to continue their discovery of Paldea.

Luckily, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC has already been announced with The Teal Mask expected for Fall 2023 and The Indigo Disk arriving in Winter 2023. Scarlet and Violet DLC is still a while away, but players are already getting their first look at what’s in store.

While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC is expected to provide a new storyline for players to progress through, it will also introduce new Pokemon to the game. Thanks to the Pokemon Twitter account, one of the new creatures has already been revealed.

Mysterious Pokemon revealed for Scarlet & Violet DLC

This new Pokemon, who was also spotted in an episode of the anime, is not the first DLC reveal to appear. Fans will remember that new Pokemon such as Ogerpon, Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipiti, and Terapagos have already been revealed.

This new turtle-like Pokemon in the image above seems to share a connection with Terapagos: “Its splendid aura is reminiscent of the Legendary Pokémon Terapagos, but this Pokémon’s name and true nature are shrouded in mystery.”

It’s clear that The Pokemon Company are not looking to reveal too much information just yet. For now, the Pokemon above remains a mystery, but this hasn’t stopped some interesting fan theories from emerging.

For starters, fans are starting to question if this new Pokemon could be a pre-evolved form of Terapagos. It’s not uncommon for Legendary Pokemon to have pre-evolutions like Solgaleo and Lunala in Pokemon Sun and Moon.

It’s also expected that both Terapagos and this yet-unnamed Pokemon could be linked to the mysterious Pokemon that is featured in the Scarlet and Violet books. It remains to be seen how that creature links to these two, but some believe it’ll be a unique Terastallized version of Terapagos.

We know that Terapagos will feature in the Indigo Disk portion of the Scarlet and Violet DLC, so players might have to wait a while to uncover this mystery. We’ll keep you posted as new information comes to light.
