On Pokemon Day, The Pokemon Company revealed that The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC is making its way to the Gen 9 games.

Fans were eagerly anticipating Pokemon Scarlet and Violet announcements during the exciting Pokemon Presents showcase on Pokemon Day. The February 27 presentation teased several new initiatives for the franchise including Pokemon Sleep, but fans were most enthralled by the announcement of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.

Players were hoping for news of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC content and while the announcement wasn’t a major surprise, fans of Gen 9 will be pleased with what’s to come in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero will deliver DLC in two parts: The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk.

The Teal Mask will arrive first with a planned release window of Fall 2023. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Part 1 of DLC will then be followed up by The Indigo Disk which is slated for a Winter 2023 release.

Despite the fact that The Teal Mask matches Scarlet’s past aesthetic and that The Indigo Disk is aligned with Violet’s, both Scarlet and Violet players will be able to experience Part 1 and Part 2 of the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC.

Players will have the opportunity to visit lands outside of Gen 9’s Paldea region. Along with visiting the two new territories, players will be able to catch Pokemon that were not featured in Paldea, such as the popular Metagross.

The Teal Mask will introduce Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players to Monkidori, Okidogi, Fezandipiti, and Ogerpon. Meanwhile, the Indigo Disk will introduce a new Pokemon called Terapagos.

If you purchase The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC early, you can claim a Hisuian Zoroark in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet along with other purchase rewards like new uniforms.
