Is Togepi available in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC?

Togepi in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon games have featured Togepi since Gen 2, so it’s not a surprise that Scarlet and Violet’s players wonder if the Egg Pokemon is available in the base game or the DLC. If you want to know about Togepi and its evolution line being available in the new Pokemon games, we’ve got you covered.

The Egg Pokemon Togepi is a fan-favorite creature in the world of Pokemon and is very sought-after in every mainline game. Since Gen 2, Togepi has been present in every game, as well as its evolutions introduced in later releases.

Since Pokemon X & Y, Togepi has been of the Fairy-type, so, normally, players want to catch or hatch it to obtain Togekiss, the last step on its evolution line. The Indigo Disk DLC brought tons of new Pokemon into Scarlet and Violet, so is Togepi included in these?

If you are wondering how to catch or get a Togepi egg in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, we’ve got you covered.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC: Is Togepi available?

Togepi or its evolutions are not available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, nor its DLC. The Egg Pokemon, Togetic, or Togekiss can’t be caught in Paldea, Kitakami, or the Blueberry Academy, and players can’t transfer it from Pokemon HOME either.

This comes as a surprise, knowing that Togepi has been available in every game or spin-off since its Gen 2 debut. With over 1025 Pokemon available, Game Freak still have to update Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to receive all available creatures, if ever they do.

Togepi in the Pokemon games
Every game and spin-off since Gen 2 has featured Togepi, the Egg Pokemon.

Every Pokemon game that features Togepi

Togepi has been around since the introduction of the Johto region into the Pokemon franchise on Pokemon Gold and Silver. The Egg Pokemon has been featured in every game and spin-off, except now in Scarlet and Violet.

Here’s every Pokemon game that has Togepi in it, as well as how to get it:

  • Gold & Silver: Hatch the Egg that Professor Elm’s assistant gives to you. This is the same for the remakes, Heart Gold & Soul Silver.
  • Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald: Get via trading.
  • Fire Red & Leaf Green: Hatch the Egg that the Gentleman in Five Island gives you.
  • Diamond, Pearl & Platinum: Hatch the egg found on Route 230 using the PokeRadar. In Platinum, Cynthia will gift a Togepi egg to the player.
  • Black & White: Togepi is a Pokemon White exclusive, and can be caught in the White Forest.
  • Black & White 2: Trade the egg from the NPC found in Nimbasa City.
  • X & Y: You can catch Togepi in the Friend Safari in Fairy-type form for the first time in the series. From this point onwards, Togepi leaves the Normal-type behind to become a complete Fairy-type.
  • Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire: Once you defeat the Pokemon League, you can receive a Togepi egg from an NPC in Lavaridge Town.
  • Sun & Moon: Get via trading. This is the same for Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
  • Sword & Shield: You can find Togepi in the wilds of Hammerlocke Hills, Lake of Outrage, Bridge Field, and Rolling Fields.
  • Scarlet & Violet: Not available.
