Overwatch 2 fans have pointed out that some of their old cosmetics have been disappearing from their collection without notice. Here’s what’s been happening with Overwatch 2 cosmetic items.

Overwatch 2 has a big collection of voice lines, skins, weapon charms, and victory poses that players can get as they progress through the Battle Pass. Most of these cosmetic items were also part of the first Overwatch game, so some players have been collecting them since 2016.

However, fans are noticing that some of the old rewards are changing without any notice, and sometimes even disappearing from the game.

Players worried about missing Overwatch 2 cosmetics

Ever since the original post came out, Overwatch 2 players have been confirming that some of their cosmetics were actually missing from their collection. “I’ve noticed some OW1 things that I have on my main account, that are nonexistent on my alt accounts (which are newer and were made in OW2),” described UnwindingWithJiggles a Reddit thread discussing the issue.

“I mean yeah, these aren’t super important cosmetics for the majority of players, but still it’s horrible to know that things you paid for, aren’t any more accessible for you,” wrote Reddit user LordVaderVader, who said they were afraid that these types of stealthy purges were affecting their collection.

Most fans who replied to this post were also concerned that Blizzard haven’t informed players about these “changes” and that there is no information available on why they are suddenly missing. “My biggest problem is the lack of communication. I mean, I don’t think this is something they’d want to advertise,” pointed out Reddit user Hayzell.

One of the biggest concerns with Overwatch 2 is that some of these cosmetics were bought with real money and not as part of an in-game reward. While some players speculate that they were surely removed because some items were bugged, Blizzard still haven’t made an official statement about this situation.
